Horse Happiness

There's nothing that makes my heart happier than visiting my sweet and super athletic girlfriend, Gretel and the handsome horses at her barn in San Juan Capistrano.  I don't know why I'm so enamored with a dog's eager face or a horses curious glance.  But I am.  It really is the simple things.   Giddy up.

Be Sunny On the Inside.

How can we not love a new year? Its filled with so much hope, so many possibilities -- so much potential.  We wake up with a renewed spirit, open to change, with a commitment to improve ourselves -- to take a stand, to take action and make this the year we "do" instead of "dream".   This first day of January is special.  We have a clean slate.  More than likely we haven't disappointed anyone, including ourselves. (Unless of course you ran straight for the left-over Christmas candy when you woke up -- and in that case, just chalk it up to too much NY Eve champagne and move on).

Maxwell and some of my random Mammoth Mtn. images.

Optimism.  If you make any resolutions this year, let it be that you hold on to the optimism of today.  That you look at every morning as a new chance to be the person you know you can be.  That you give yourself grace and forgive yourself for yesterday's mistakes, missteps, trips and slips. Change what is under your control to change and  be sunny -- on the inside.

 Happy New Year!

50 Shades Fashion Vibe

Looks like someone was reading by night and designing by day.

I love the tough chic look.  A piece here or there adds a little swag and attitude which I happen to think is essential to any outfit -- and actually life in general.  Herve Leger's Fall line includes a few items on my new Lust list.  They're calling it a study in seduction and restraint. The boots, cuff and possibly the fur trimmed leather harness vest are on my Lust list.    Hold me back.

YOU ARE INCREDIBLE.

I've never been accused of trying to blend in.  I know it sounds like a cliche, but I really do believe we were all created with unique gifts and talents.  I love that about people.  How different we are. Strong, smart, silly, creative, calm, quiet, crazy, bookish, blonde, brunette, lively, lovely, loud, tall, short, straight, curvy... It's all good in my book.  Through countless failed attempts at trying to be like someone else or change my genetic code I've learned that being me is something I can do better than anyone in the entire world. Do I wish I had longer legs? Uh, yah.  Do I have issues? Definitely.  But essentially, I like being "me".  I'm the only me there is. My "YOU ARE INCREDIBLE" art came from my desire to tell everyone I meet that they're perfect the way they were made too. I think it's important to encourage individuality and affirm unique qualities and God-given gifts in our kids, our friends, ourselves.  I hope you know that you (yes, you) are incredible too.
